National Veterans Day Run Purpose

The purpose of the National Veterans Day Run is to provide a venue to thank the men and women that have served or are currently serving in our nation's military during the week of Veterans Day (November 11th). To this end, we provide discounted pricing to our Veterans and active-duty military participants as well as discounted pricing for spouses of our Veterans. Your participation also allows us to make this event available to service members worldwide for the same discounted price as those serving in the States.

We also donate a portion of the proceeds from our events to honorable military charities. Donations from prior years' events have included the Wounded Warrior Project, Folds of Honor, Operation Gratitude, Team Red White and Blue and numerous local veterans charities in the cities we have events.

Flag Brigade

Would you like to be a part of the National Veterans Day Run but can’t (or don’t like to) run or walk? If so, the flag brigade is for you! Sign up for the flag brigade for $10 and we’ll assign you a location on the course close to other flag brigade members where you will proudly display the American flag and cheer on our participants. Flag brigade locations begin at the start/finish line and the furthest locations are a 5 minute walk from the start. Flag brigade members are encouraged to stand if possible, but we also welcome those that need to bring a folding chair or are in a wheelchair. Flags will be provided by the National Veterans Day Run and must be returned at the end of the event. All participants in the flag brigade will receive a special flag brigade t-shirt and the collectible event pin.

Collectible Event Pin

This will be the 6th year we've produced a collectible event pin for all participants in the National Veterans Day Run. Pins will be available at packet pickup or at the race.


Finisher's Medals for 5K and above

We believe in providing quality medals for our events and this year will be no exception! All finishers running 5K or further will receive a medal - including those participating in our virtual run. All medals include a 1" wide full color ribbon.


Chronotrack Timing for 5K and greater

The National Veterans Day Run will be using state-of-the-art Chronotrack timing equipment for all distances 5K and greater. The disposible timing chip is located on the back of your runner's bib. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is:

  • Clearly visible on the FRONT of the torso
  • Unaltered and unmodified (please do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Pinned in all four corners
  • Not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

Live race results are usually available at the race at our finish line kiosks. Please check with our finish line staff to find out if your city offers live results. All results are posted after the race on this page.

Shirts Available for Purchase

Shirts are available for purchase during the registration process. Cotton shirts are $12 and Technical t-shirts are $20. Your shirt(s) will be available at packet pickup or on race morning. Alternately, if you register early, you can request your shirt(s) be shipped two weeks prior to the event for an additional $8.

Two colors will be available for purchase this year: dark blue and red.




*Important Notice: T-shirts purchased prior to November 1st will be available at packet pick-up or race day. If your shirt is purchased after November 1st, your shirt may not be available on race day and will be sent via US Mail within 14 days of the event. Please follow up with us via chat, e-mail, Facebook or Twitter to confirm your address if you did not receive your shirt at the race.

Race day pricing for shirts is $20 for a cotton t-shirt and $40 for a technical t-shirt while supplies last. Pre-order to guarantee a shirt and sizing on race day.

Bib/Packet Pickup

Pre-race Packet Pickup

We will host an optional packet pickup a few days before the event. Details will be posted in the right hand column on this page. If you are unable to make the packet pickup, we do allow friends or family members to pickup your bib. They will simply need to know the spelling of your name and your age - IDs are not required.

Race Day Packet Pickup

We also offer race-day packet pickup. We ask that you arrive at least 45-minutes prior to the race start time if you wish to pickup your packet on race day. We will have kiosks setup for bib pickup and we ask that you please enter only your last name when you approach the kiosk. Please note that lines may appear extremely long approximately 20 minutes prior to the race start - don't panic as this is normal. Please enjoy a nice conversation with your neighbor in line and rest assured that your time will not start until you cross the finish line. We have a very efficient registration system and very rarely have a problem processing all participants before the race start. Please note that if you are not in line to pickup your bib by the time the pre-race ceremony begins, you are welcome to run, but may not have a bib or official time.

Mail Race Bib

Finally, if you register early and would like to save gas and the drive, we can mail your bib two weeks prior to the event for a $5 fee (multiple bibs can be mailed for the $5 fee as long as everyone is registered in the same transaction). If you purchase a shirt, the cost to mail your bib and shirt is $8 plus $4 for each additional shirt. If you wish to use this option, please choose "mail my bib" during the registration process.

Veterans and Active Duty Military Discount

As a way of saying thank you for your service to our Country, Veterans and all active duty military personnel will receive an $11 entry into the 11K, 5K or 1-mile walk/run if registered before race day. On race day, Veterans and active duty will pay $30 for the 11K and $20 for the 5K or 1-mile walk.   The half marathon in San Jose is $20 for Veterans and active duty military if registered before race day and $40 on race day. Please choose the Veteran or active duty military option during registration to receive the discount.

Spouses of Veterans and active duty, along with youth between 13-17 years old, will receive a $5 discount off the current registration if registered before race day.

Awards

Overall Male and Overall Female

The overall male and overall female for each timed event will receive a personalized 5" x 7" finisher's plaque. You will receive the plaque at the event and the personalized plate will be send after the event. Please fill out the personalization form at the race or contact us after the race with your name as you would like your name to appear on the plates. Plates will be sent 6-8 weeks after the event.

Top Veteran/Military Male and Female

The top male and female Veteran/Military participant for each timed event will receive a personalized 5" x 7" finisher's plaque. You will receive the plaque at the event and the personalized plate will be send after the event. Please fill out the personalization form at the race or contact us after the race with your name as you would like your name to appear on the plates. Plates will be sent 6-8 weeks after the event.

Age Group Awards

We will be offering personalized awards for all age group winners in each of our timed events. Age groups are as follows: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Age group winners will receive a National Veterans Day Run dog tag and chain at the post-race awards ceremony. At that time, winners will be asked to fill out a personalization form for a second dog tag that will be sent approximately 6-8 weeks after the event.

Largest Team Awards

Each member of the largest team in each city will receive a color National Veterans Day Run dog tag (pictured above) and a second imprinted dog tag and chain at the post-race awards ceremony.
